Bob Puccini's specialization in creating personality restaurants has evolved as a result of his development career beginning with the Que Pasa group of family restaurants for the San Diego-based El Torito Company in the 1970s.
In 1989, Bob joined the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group as Senior Vice President of Restaurants. Bob grew the restaurant division from four restaurants to eighteen restaurants and over 100 million dollars in revenue during his tenure. In 1996, Mr. Puccini left Kimpton, with Bill Kimpton as his partner, to start his own restaurant design, operations and consulting firm, The Puccini Group.
Bob serves on the Board of Directors for the California Restaurant Association and is Chairman of its Educational Foundation. He is also a member of the board of advisors of Golden Gate University’s Hotel and Restaurant
Management School, University of San Francisco’s Hospitality Management Program as well as the Hospitality Management Advisory Board of San Francisco State University. In 2004 he was inducted in to the World Travel and Tourism Council. He holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from San Diego State University and spent 1969 in Brazil with the Peace Corps.
