Sustainability & the “Cradle-to-Cradle” Philosophy

Sustainability and environmental awareness has become the key focus for the 21st century, not only affecting design but influencing every part of our daily lifestyle. From the way we source our food, to the type of transport we use; being green has become an industry of its own.

Backhausen has set the precedent for the textiles industry by developing the first environmentally-friendly produced and recyclable flame-retardant Trevira-CS fabrics following the Cradle-to-Cradle philosophy.

Reinhard Backhausen, the President of Backhausen as well as President of the Austrian Textiles Industry, will be educating participants on sustainability and the Cradle-to-Cradle philosophy as well as discussing his company’s global innovation. The session will then be open for group discussion.
